How The Mustache Has Changed Men’s Health

When you think of November, what comes to mind?  Probably a quaint town in Vermont — or perhaps a jovial (or torturous) gathering of friends and family stuffing their faces.  For us at CharityBooster, we can’t help but think of Mustaches. That’s right…MUSTACHES! Our friends at the Movember Foundation have made a HUGE impact through an incredible, yet simple social movement called MOVEMBER.

Here are the deets — Every November, the Movember Foundation asks men to grow a mustache and fundraise for men’s health issues, such as testicular and prostate cancer.  In their words, “Your Mo can inspire donations, conversations, and real change. Grow a Mo this Movember, and you can stop men from dying too young.”  Since their inception in 2003, they have raised over $837M, created a global community of over 5M MO Bros and Sistas, and they have helped fund more than 1,200 breakthrough men’s health projects in more than 20 countries.

Regrettably however, mustaches sometimes give off a…creeper vibe.  To curb the creeper stereotype, the Movember Foundation used this hilarious video to show the power of the Mo Bros.

At CharityBooster we LOVE seeing charities, like the Movember Foundation, win! We believe so much and so fiercely in the work that charities do that we are donating a vacation package every week until the end of the year — valued at $4,550 this package has helped us raise over $1.3M for charities!
